A McRae Moment

by Shaun on March 25, 2010

I took this photo several years ago and still keep it on my computer for inspiration. Hard to believe I was able to stand this close to the rally legend.

McRae at the Ceremonial Start for the WRC's 2004 Rallye Italia Sardinia

Let’s just say it was a humbling moment.

Actually, the cars are really quite similar, I’ve just always wanted to include bleeding edge in something. The biggest difference is that Block’s Mk2 beast has a sequential gearbox and the driver sits on the correct side of the car.

After the break, check out a couple of rally guys as they giggle like school girls in an Escort.
